Some of the events enjoyed by Year 2

In Yr2 our main topics are Fire, Friends and Neighbours and Global Gardens.  At the beginning of each term you will receive a newsletter telling you more details about each topic. 

Trips and visits and visitors are linked to these topics and may vary from year to year but the highlight is always our trip to Nell Bank in the summer term.  At Nell Bank we take part in outdoor activities to support our science and geography work.  We will experience pond dipping, mini-beast collecting, looking at habitats and much more.  Fingers crossed for good weather.

Barnaby Bear links the speaking and listening aspects of our curriculum to your child's experiences.  He is a soft toy and he and his family have enjoyed wonderful trips around the world.  If you are going on holiday you can take Barnaby, cousin Bruno or Uncle Bill along for the trip. When you come back we will look at the photographs and talk about the exciting experiences you have all enjoyed, find places on the map and discuss transport etc.  They are very well behaved little bears and would love to come on holiday with you.

At Christmas we always give 2 performances of our concert for parents and friends.  As well as having a party we also enjoy a pantomime

All the children in Year 2 have the option to join the football club on Tuesday lunchtimes and dance club on Wednesday lunchtimes.. Extra-curricular activities link
