Welcome to Year 4.
Year 4 is a fantastic place to be when you are at Sandal! Drawing on the specialist skills of our two year 4 teachers, much of our work incorporates art and music, combined with a wider cross-curricular approach wherever possible, to make our work "hands-on", exciting and practical.

Many of our subjects are taught using interactive methods such as the Smart board, to actively engage children and work is carefully matched to suit your child's abilities and interests. Progress is carefully monitored and children are encouraged to improve their work by focussing on their own individual targets, through use of our Target Boards, in Literacy.

One of the highlights of the year is our 4-day residential trip to Ingleborough Hall in the village of Clapham, in North Yorkshire.

Sport
Sport is a real strength at Sandal and year 4 is no exception! Apart from all the clubs and teams you can join (and there are lots!) the main highlight in Year 4 is the chance to improve your swimming skills, as this is the year group in which we start our weekly swimming lessons.
